I haven’t written in Workplace Wonders for quite a while. At the beginning of 2014, I insisted that I would not take huge breaks from blogging but, honestly, I am failing at the commitment and it has been one of the first things to go.
There has been so much going on in my life but that is not an excuse. I am experiencing some family challenges, contracted a bad bug (am well now) and am working on some significant initiatives at work. It was really easy to throw myself into what NEEDED to happen every day and not what I WANTED to happen.
I realized that I needed to take a step back and that I was losing myself in costant busyness and multi-tasking. I wasn’t refueling and I was forgetting to tend to the things that keep my mind and body well nourished.
I think it’s easy to fall into this trap and to deprive yourself of the necessary day to day sustenance you desire. So, as we move into a new week, don’t forget to:
1) Exercise & meditate
2) Reach out to current and new contacts
4) Schedule time to think and learn something new
5) Write & share
6) Help others
Doing these things will help create more time. I will look forward to posting again later this week.
